Student Agreement and Cancellation Policy

Cancellation and Refund Policy

• Classes and Privates: Refunds are available with at least 7 calendar days’ notice prior to your first class minus a $35 processing fee.

• Private Lessons can be rescheduled on a case-by-case basis if given a minimum of 5 days’ notice.

• Seminars and Workshops: Refunds are available with at least 14 days’ notice prior to the seminar minus a 20% processing fee.

Class Procedures

• Arrive before your class starts so you can walk your dog and be ready when your class starts.

• Be ready when it is your turn for turn-based classes.

• Dogs in heat can participate in classes but must wear panties.

• Dogs are to be kept under control at all times.

• Do not leave dogs tied to anything unless expressly instructed as part of class.

• Help set up if needed, as directed by your instructor. For agility, please help with setting bars and agility equipment during class time.

• If you need to miss a class, you will not receive a refund, or a make up or pro-rated session unless you have already contacted alexis@caninesavvytraining.com 3 weeks prior to the classes first session. You may try to find someone to buy your class time from you directly as long as you have instructor approval.

Payment

• Payment in full must be received in advance of class, workshop, seminar, or private lesson start date in order to guarantee your spot. 

• Prices are subject to change without notice. Participants will be notified regarding policy changes either by email or by posting at the class site.

Inclement Weather Policy 

• Heavy rain, snow, ice, or emergency situations may necessitate last-minute cancellations. 

• Participants should use their best judgment in regards to their safety and travel arrangements. 

• Reasonable effort will be made by Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC to notify class members regarding any cancellation. If in doubt, please contact your instructor. 

Guarantees 

No guarantee is given on training programs. Every dog and handler is a unique team and the success of any training program, no matter how good the instructor or material, is dependent on factors outside the control of Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC. 

 

Property Rules and Information

Pet Policy

• Dogs are to be leashed and under control at all times when in the facility or outside.

• Do not allow dogs to potty on buildings, trash cans, or any other man-made objects.

• Dog poop must be picked up immediately and disposed of properly. There are poop bag dispensers located inside the facility.

• Dogs with a known communicable illness are not allowed at Canine Savvy Training and behavior LLC.

• Any dog behaving in a threatening or aggressive manner towards another dog or a person may be asked to leave the grounds immediately..

• Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC is a positive reinforcement training facility. No harsh verbal or physical corrections or aversive training tools are allowed. Correction tools that are not allowed include, but not limited to: Electronic “shock” collars; choke chain collars; prong “pinch” collars; electric bark collars or muzzles designed to limit the dogs ability to bark/react; and spray bottles or noise cans to punish undesirable behaviors.

Children

• Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

• Parents are responsible for all damages caused by their child.

Personal Conduct

Disorderly ill-mannered conduct will not be tolerated. Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC is a privately-owned property and therefore management reserves the right to expel anyone from the property for disorderly conduct or for any other reason. No refunds will be given.

Smoking

There is no smoking inside the building or within 25 feet of any entrance to the building. You may smoke inside your vehicle or away from these areas or other cars and trucks. Dispose of the butts in your vehicle or trash cans. 

Privacy Policy

All information received will remain confidential, unless specific permission has been requested and received to post to our website or printed materials. No home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or billing information will be given or sold to another party.

Photography/Video Consent

As part of Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC’s marketing and other efforts we may sometimes take pictures, video or audio recordings of the building and our students, members, guests, and visitors. In choosing to be in our business, each student, member, guest, and visitor in the building hereby consents to our capture and use of voice recordings, images, videos, and likeness of them or their dog(s) for any marketing or other purposes not prohibited by law, indefinitely, and without payment of any royalty, licensing or other fees whatsoever. If any minor children are present, their legal guardian is required to let the manager know at the time a photo or video is taken that permission is not given to use their likeness for any marketing purposes.

 

Agreement to Hold Harmless and Assumption of Risk

The above Terms & Conditions set forth the rules and policies that are applicable at Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC. Notwithstanding anything in these Terms and Conditions to the contrary, all guests, visitors, and other occupants (collectively, "guests") are required to comply with all rules and policies posted at the business, as well as all directions of the staff. We reserve the right to remove from the property anyone in violation of these Terms and Conditions, or any rules or policies posted at the property. There are no refunds for voluntary departure, eviction, acts of nature or removal in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or 

• I understand that attendance at any event may pose some risk to myself, members of my family, my guests, and my dog(s) and expressly assume the risk of any damage or injury (to myself, my dog(s), and/or any minors attending) incurred as a result of an event conducted by or on the grounds of Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC.

• I understand that it is my responsibility to supervise my dog(s) for their safety and the safety of other dogs and people.

• If I am bringing children to the session or the Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC property, understand that it is my responsibility to supervise them for their safety and the safety of the dogs.

• I am responsible for damages caused by me, my dog(s) and/or my guests and family members.

• To minimize all risks, I agree to disclose any danger or sensitivities my dog(s) may present. I will immediately inform the trainer of any situations that may provoke aggression in my dog(s) and be responsible for avoiding those situations.

• In consideration of my participation in a dog training session or sessions conducted by or on behalf of Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC, I, on behalf of myself and any minors attending the dog training session(s) with me, waive, release, and agree to hold harmless Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC and any and all of its employees, volunteers, agents, insurers, and successors from any and all causes of actions, claims, demands, losses, injuries, and damages of any kind which may be sustained by them or their dog(s) in connection with the dog training session.

• Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC activities are held on private property, belonging to Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC or The Friendly Bark, using equipment owned, rented or borrowed by Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC, in the presence of other dogs whose temperaments are not known, and in the presence of other people whose temperaments are not known.

• That my participation in Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC activities is not without risk to myself, my dog(s), other family members or guests, and other class participants (human or canine). These may include, without limitation, risks of physical injury, mental injury, emotional distress, trauma and death, property damage, and contact with other participants and their dogs. All risks are known and appreciated by me and I as a participant shall assume and pay my medical and emergency expenses in the event of injury, illness, or incapacity regardless of whether I authorized such expenses. I agree that I am solely responsible for the behavior and physical control of my dog(s) and agree to carefully monitor and control my dog(s) at all times.

• All dog training and dog sports, including but not limited to dog agility, is potentially hazardous to both dogs and people. Dog training involves the physical act of walking and running over uneven, rough and hard terrain for both dogs and people. Dog training, dog sports and  classes involve running near and around equipment that could be dangerous including, but not limited to, rough edges, protruding parts, equipment over 5 feet high with no cushioning mats underneath, falling over or off equipment, running into equipment, slipping on the ground and/or equipment, striking jump bars, and tripping over handlers and dogs. Dog sports involve strenuous running, twisting, bending and leaning for the handlers, and running, climbing and jumping for the dogs. 

• Participating in dog training and dog sports involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and/or cold, wet conditions. Dog training and dog sports involve working indoors on rubber matting surfaces. Dog training and dog sports involve working in an area with vehicle traffic nearby. Participating in dog training and dog sports involve off-leash dogs. Dogs are animals and may exhibit aggression to other dogs and people. Aggressive dogs may bite and may cause injury to people and/or other dogs. 

• It is not reasonable, feasible nor realistic for Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC and its representatives to have knowledge of and compensate for any medical conditions that people or dogs may have that may be triggered or exacerbated by physical exertion and/or temperature extremes. Therefore, it is the participant’s responsibility (or in the case of minor children – their parent’s responsibility) to obtain medical or veterinarian approval for their (people and dogs) participation in the activity. 

• I agree as the Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC participant, or as the parent/guardian of a child participant, to hereby waive and release Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC, its owner (Alexis Brinkley), members, Instructors, owners of all premises on which activities are held, employees, agents and volunteers from any and all liability of any nature for loss, injury, death, disappearance, theft, harm, illness, expense (including legal fees), hardship and/or damage which I (my child/children, if participants), my vehicle and/or my dog may suffer.

• In consideration of and as inducement to the acceptance of application for participation in Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC dog training and/or activities that is held on private property, using equipment owned, rented or borrowed by Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC, its members, the private property owner(s) where classes are held, employees, volunteers and agents from any and all claims, or claims by any members of my family or guests while on the property  where the Canine Savvy Training and Behavior LLC activity is being held and/or the surrounding property thereto as a result of any action by any dog, including my own, and/or human.
